True Love

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Book Review: Blood Moon by Dawn Thompson

Book 1 in the Blood Moon Series

BLURB: THEIR DARK CURSE
Jon Hyde-White was changed. Neither his horse nor his dog trusted him any longer, and with good cause; the transformation was almost complete. Soon he would cease to be an earl's second son and become a ravening monster.

Already lust grew, begging him to drink, to devour, to swallow in great gulps hot blood from every opalescent neck--and the blood of his fiancĂ©e, Cassandra Thorpe, would be sweetest of all. Was that not why they were chosen? Was that not why the blasphemous creature Sebastian burst upon them from the London shadows? But Sebastian's evil task remained incomplete, and neither Jon not Cassandra was beyond hope. Still she smelled of meadowsweet and lilies, and he still believed in Heaven. One chance remainedin faraway Moldovia, in a secret brotherhood, in an ancient ritual and the power of love and the...BLOOD MOON

REVIEW: Jon Hyde White thought he had his future all wrapped up he was about to become the vicar of his own parish. He was in love with the woman of his dreams and they are soon to be married. What more could a man want. But what he couldn't have foreseen was that an evil out of lore and beyond anyone's imagination was about to turn all of his best laid plans to dust.

An evil vampire attacks both he and his ladylove Cassandra leaving them both infected and now facing the fact that they are now vampires with an irresistible thirst for human blood. Devastated Jon pursues a lead that tells of a sect of priests in Moldovia that could hold some of the answers to his new condition. He and Cassandra marry hastily to protect her reputation and so that she might accompany him on his journey to the Carpathians where they find an unlikely ally in a Gypsy named Milosh who unlocks many of the secrets they are after as well as telling them of the Rite of the Blood Moon and the sect of the "Brotherhood" that could be the key to their survival and their salvation. (I hasten to note that the Brotherhood of which Milosh belongs and brings Jon and Casssandra into are the fighters of evil and they are the good guys!

I have seen in several different places and reviews where they were referred to as the villains and that is incorrect the Brotherhood are the GOOD GUYS!) I enjoyed this novel it is a great beginning to a new saga that I will definitely be continuing to see what happens with the characters I will not divulge more as I would be giving away some of the story by doing so but for anyone that likes a good vampire tale this one is very rich in adventure, with strong rememberable characters and a wonderful attention to detail.
