True Love

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Movie Review: Catching Fire

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson,
Liam Hemsworth

Directed by: Francis Lawrence (no kin to Jennifer btw)

BLURB: Academy Award winner* Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen in this thrilling second adventure from The Hunger Games saga. Against all odds, Katniss and fellow tribute, Peeta, have returned home after surviving the games. Winning means they must turn around, leaving their loved ones behind, and embark on a Victory Tour through the districts. Along the way, Katniss senses a rebellion simmering - one that she and Peeta may have sparked. At the end of the Victory Tour, President Snow announces a deadly 75th Hunger Games (Quarter Quell) that could change Panem forever.

REVIEW: Catching Fire is the sequel to the mega hit Hunger Games. It is based on the second book in the series of books by the same name, and just like the first movie it follows it’s book version very closely as well.

Katniss and Peeta have returned back home to District 12 after surviving and becoming the only 2 Victors to survive in a single year during the 74th Hunger Games. But Katniss’s actions during and after the games has more than raised the ire of the leaders in the Capital and none more so than President Snow himself. He sees her as the beacon of hope for the people and an icon of rebellion that he fears will soon spiral out of control through the districts if they don’t nip it quickly in the bud. For hope as he says is the only thing that can over come fear… which everyone knows is what the Capital has been using for years to keep the people in check.

So he devises a special plan for the anniversary quarter of the Hunger Games and for the 75th edition he announces that a special reaping will take place not among the regular people of the districts as normal but from the pool of Victors from previous games.

Katniss is stunned, furious, and yes scared. For she knows that she will be going back to the games once again as she is the only female victor ever from her district. And chances are that Peeta will be going to as it’s between him and Hamish for the male victor from district 12. At the reaping Katniss is chosen by default as she was the only girl of course but when Hamish’s name is pulled for the male contestant Peeta steps forward and volunteers in his place.

So it’s back to the Capital to relive the nightmare of fighting for their lives yet again. And this time its even worse as they will not just be up against other teens but they will be up against other victors of the games some of them much older and much more seasoned in the games than they are in many ways.

Can Katniss and Peeta survive the games again or will the Capital see it’s revenge on them for their blatant defiance once and for all?

To me this one was even better than the first movie but make no mistake this is one that you have to see the first movie for it to make any sense at all. But if you have you are going to thoroughly love this sequel film as it is not only a great action and sci-fi movie but a great drama as well!

It does end sort of on a cliffhanger though I was going NO you can't end there!!! When it did end...because now I have to wait a year or more until the next movie comes out to see what happens! UGH LOL. But that just shows you how good it was that I was that involved in it to be ticked off it ended when it did. I don’t think I’ll be able to wait for as long as it will take them to release Mocking Jay so I foresee that I will have to read the books before then, as I’m dying to know what happens next!

Great movie and not one to be missed! If you l liked the first one forget renting and just straight out buy this one!

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some frightening images, thematic elements, a suggestive situation and language
