True Love

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Movie Review: The Lego Movie

Starring: Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, and many many more.

Directed by: Phil Lord and Christopher Miller

BLURB: An ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be the prophesied 'Special', is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis.

REVIEW: The Lego movie is a 3D animated feature film that kids should love. I watched this one with my son who even though he is 15 still loves legos, and why not I do too! Who doesn’t everybody really if they are totally honest! ;)

The movie centers around Emmet (Chris Pratt) who is about as dull and cookie cutter a lego minifig as you can get pretty much. And bless his poor heart he follows the rules to a tee and then some and has to have instructions for everything… and I do mean everything in his life. The dude had one diagram and instructions for taking a shower and breathing for goodness sakes. BUT Emmet’s life has some very dramatic and action packed changes when he happens upon a girl named Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) and falls literally upon the legendary Piece of Resistance! Which means that he is a foretold Master Builder who can create anything at the drop of a hat.

And it’s up to him and his new found friends to save the lego world from the evil Lord Business before he unleashes the Kragle and destroys them all!

The movie is chocked full of funny and clever moments like all the previous lego films and video games in the franchise. And also includes cameos by countless Lego Characters and their various sets as well as countless Hollywood stars voicing them!  Including… Channing Tatum as Superman, Will Arnett as Batman, Cobie Smulders as Wonderwoman, Liam Neeson as Bad Cop/Good Cop, Morgan Freeman as Vitruvius, Will Ferrell as Lord Business, and many, many more.

This is one that as I said the kiddies will love and it’s a pretty cute movie I have to admit as a mom too. It’s one that the kids will probably want to see over and over, but for the grown ups once you have seen it – you have seen it - and you probably won’t care to rewatch it at least anytime soon. So great kids movie but just so so for an adult, therefore this one gets 3 stars from me.

Rated PG for mild action and rude humor
